What We’re Doing to Keep Us All Safe During COVID-19
We are so excited to welcome you back to Salon 1026. Of course, some things have changed. We've designed this web page to help you understand what changes to expect, what we're doing to help keep you safe, and what we need you to do. Please take a moment to read this page, in its entirety, before your appointment.
On behalf of all of us at Salon 1026, thank you so very much for your support of our local business. We are thrilled to be able to see our clients and friends again.
What We’re Doing to Keep Us All Safe
Changes in the Salon
We have reorganized the salon to help with social distancing and removed any "shared" items:
No waiting area
Fewer indoor stations - all at least 6 feet apart with dividers between stations
Only 1 client per stylist in the salon at a time
Additional outdoor stations
No reading material (like magazines)
No beverage area
No self-serve retail area (ask your stylist for products and she/he will get them for you)
Personal Protective Equipment and Hand Hygiene
Stylists will wear face coverings at all times in the salon
Before and after every client, stylists will wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer for 30 seconds
Stylists have been trained on the symptoms of COVID-19 and will self-monitor. If a stylist has symptoms that could be COVID-19, she/he will reschedule clients until she/he is symptom-free.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
When possible, all doors in the salon will be kept open to increase ventilation
Workstations will be routinely and frequently cleaned and disinfected, including between each client, with an EPA-approved disinfectant that kills the coronavirus. Areas that will be cleaned and disinfected include:
Counters
Chairs, including headrests
Shampoo bowls, handles, spray nozzles, and hoses
Rolling carts
Drawers hand mirrors
Hair care and other products and containers
The entire salon will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at the end of each day, allowing disinfectant to sit on surfaces overnight.
Styling equipment such as scissors and shears will be cleaned and disinfected between clients with an EPA-approved disinfectant that kills coronavirus.
Single-use items will be thrown away in a covered garbage container immediately after use
Reusable items such as capes and towels are:
Immediately put in a covered laundry container until washing
Washed at 160 degrees for at least 25 minutes.

What We Need You To Do
Reschedule if you do not feel well: It is extremely important that we all stay home if we are sick. If you need to cancel because you feel ill, we will not charge a cancellation fee.
Wear a face-covering: Clients who arrive at the salon without a face covering will be asked to reschedule. You must wear a face-covering that covers your nose and mouth at all times in the salon.
Wait in your car: Your stylist will come and get you when the station has been disinfected and she/he is ready for you. Your stylist will take your temperature before entering the salon. If you have a fever, you will be asked to reschedule.
Sanitize your hands: Before you enter the salon, please use hand sanitizer. We will have it for you at the entrance.
Book your appointments by phone: please do not stop by to make an appointment.
Come alone: Please do not bring anyone with you. If someone drove you to your appointment, please have them wait in the car or call them when you are finished.
Stay seated: In order to maintain social distancing, we ask that you stay in the stylist chair unless directed by your stylist.
Wipe the restroom before you leave it: If you need to use the restroom, please let your stylist know so she/he can make sure it is vacant and clean. Before you leave the restroom, please wipe down surfaces you touch in the bathroom (toilet handle, faucet, etc.) with the disinfectant cloths provided in the bathroom.
Ask for products: To avoid multiple people touching containers, we ask that you let your stylist know what you want to purchase and she/he will get them for you using gloves.
A Note About Safety
We take COVID-19 very seriously and are doing everything we can to make the salon as safe as possible. We will meet or exceed all public health requirements. But it is important to remember that some people with COVID-19 have no symptoms. So despite our very best efforts, we cannot provide a guarantee that someone with COVID-19 may come to the salon. If you have health concerns that put you at hight risk COVID-19 complications or feel uncomfortable with this uncertainty, we understand. We will welcome you back to the salon when you feel safe and comfortable to do so.
We want to get back to normal but we also want everyone to be safe and healthy. Thank you for your patience as we work through our new processes.
